First 4's David Nestor comments on a successful evening at the PrintWeek Awards

Commenting on First 4 being named PrintWeek SME of the Year for the second successive year, Managing Director David Nestor said: “I’ll be honest, we’re absolutely delighted and shocked – we couldn’t have done it without the support of our staff and very loyal customer base. It was a shock last year to win and winning again this year was just incredible.”

First 4 once again on the PrintWeek SME Awards shortlist

After another successful year, First 4’s achievements have been recognised by the industry as we have once again been shortlisted for the 2011 PrintWeek SME Award.

The award is targeted at small to medium-sized enterprises, which form the backbone of the print industry. It recognises the achievements of printing companies with up to 50 employees and/or a turnover of under £5m.

First 4's Facebook foray boosts stitching firepower

Finishing house First 4 Print Finishing has ramped up its stitching capabilities after buying a Heidelberg ST400 on the basis of a Facebook chat.

Blackburn-based First 4's managing director David Nestor said that a wily salesman at used equipment supplier Grafitec had left a message on his Facebook page tempting him to make the investment.

The company spent £300,000 in 2008 and aside from one or two investments since, including an ST300 late last year, First 4 had not intended to bump up its stitching firepower.
